Samaritan House provides a safe haven for homeless men to re-evaluate their lives. It actively works with other agencies to provide support and opportunities for housing. Their stay at Samaritan House aims to empower them with dignity, self-respect and confidence. Crisis accommodation is available for men only, over the age of 18 years.
Get on Board 2015
Our new building was officially opened in December 2015 and Samaritan House Geelong now provides overnight crisis accommodation for nine men. Each night two volunteers stay with our guests but more volunteers are needed. Please contact 0413426716 if you would like to volunteer or go to the volunteer section on this website. Training is provided and police checks are done by Samaritan House. Our volunteers usually stay at the house one night a month but you can volunteer more often if you are available.
The original house requires refurbishing and will reopen later this year to provide an additional four beds so that we will be able to provide overnight crisis accommodation for 13 men.
Samaritan House is a Geelong based not-for-profit organisation managed by a board of voluntary members drawn from the local community. We receive no government funding but rely on grants and donations from philanthropic individuals and orgnaisations.
